What Is SNGPL and What Does Checking Status by CNIC Mean?
SNGPL stands for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited. It is the company that supplies natural gas to homes and businesses in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. Homes in Sindh and Balochistan are served by a different company called SSGC.
When you apply for a new gas connection SNGPL saves your details and links them to your CNIC. So you can track everything with your ID card number. That is what an SNGPL application status check by CNIC means. You give the system your CNIC, and it tells you where your file has reached.
Your CNIC is not the only thing tied to your file. When you first apply SNGPL also gives you an application reference number, which some people call a tracking ID. Either one can be used to track your gas connection request.
